Why have a Dental Cleaning & Check-up?

Professional Dental Cleanings

A Professional Dental Cleaning effectively eliminates deposits and tartar that toothbrushes alone cannot manage. These deposits are typically stubborn and require the expertise of a HYGIENIST (Registered Dental Hygienists or RDH that are regulated by the Alberta College of Dental Hygienists). Dental cleanings help to safeguard against gum recession, bone loss (gum disease), and the potential loss of teeth.

Professional Dental Check-ups

A dental check-up involves a thorough inspection of your teeth and oral tissues by a DENTIST (a doctor registered with the College of Dental Surgeons of Alberta). Only a Dentist can assesses dental x-rays to assess the health both your teeth and bones. They also visually examine the surfaces of your teeth and gums for any indications of decay or disease. Why is it important to have these check-ups regularly by a dentist? It’s easier to fix small problems before they develop into larger ones.

Dental Cleaning Process

    Dental Records

    Tartar Removal

Our Dental Hygienists will use instruments that generate low pressure sound waves to remove the hard deposits from the tooth's surface. If you have sensitivity ask about options for topical gels to numb you before treatment. We focus to develop a custom cleaning plan around your needs.
